Minister Commends the College for Excellence in Animal Trophy Production

The Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Hon. Angellah Kairuki, commended the College of African Wildlife Management, Mweka, for its exceptional efforts in producing animal trophies. Her commendation was made during an official visit to the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, where she toured the College's booth within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism pavilion.

Hon. Kairuki lauded the College's commitment to excellence and innovation in wildlife conservation and taxidermy. She encouraged the institution to continue producing high-quality animal trophies for both government and non-government institutions.

Additionally, Hon. Kairuki directed the College to identify and establish a database of taxidermists nationwide. This initiative aims to ensure the College has a comprehensive list of qualified taxidermists for collaboration on future projects and to streamline the process of engaging taxidermists for various conservation initiatives.

Mr. Ernest Emmanuel, the College Principal Public Relations Officer, highlighted the College's extensive training programs in Captive Wildlife Management and Taxidermy, and its strengthened Taxidermy unit, now producing trophies for both wildlife and domestic animals.

The College of African Wildlife Management, Mweka remains a leader in wildlife management education, contributing significantly to conservation efforts and the sustainable use of wildlife resources through taxidermy.
