Sub-Theme 5: Custodians: Strengthening the work of Rangers

Although the daunting ‘boots on the ground’ daily work of wildlife protection falls in the hands of rangers, regrettably, their working environment is far from ideal. This undesirable scenario, which definitely erodes their morale and overall working spirit needs to be reversed. This theme will focus on how to improve the working conditions of Rangers so that they can carry out their duties more efficiently so as to better enhance protection of wildlife in Africa.
