Antony Lynam

Antony Lynam holds a PhD in Biology from University of California, San Diego June 1995. Based in Perth, Australia. He has more than 30 years’ experience conducting research and advocating evidence-based approaches in wildlife conservation with immense experience in Australia, USA and in the Asian region. Antony coordinates the implementation of conservation technology field solutions for the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS-USA) with programs in more than 60 countries, and has served as a Regional Advisor for wildlife conservation projects for several countries in the Asian region. He has also designed training curricular in wildlife survey, conservation, monitoring, law enforcement and protection techniques, and trained extensively on these, including to the local communities and NGOs. To this end, he has also helped organize some of the first multi-agency wildlife law enforcement training courses in the region. He has served as a supporting Officer in various technical capacities in the CITES Monitoring the Illegal Killing of Elephants (MIKE) Programme and IUCN. Antony has written or contributed to over 60 peer-reviewed research and popular articles related to wildlife conservation.
